Tracey is a double finalist for the Leicester Mercury Women in Business Awards!
Our amazing and inspirational corporate and events fundraiser has been named as a finalist in two categories (yes, two!) at this year’s Leicester Mercury Women in Business Awards for the fantastic work she does in putting our work in the spotlight.
It’s such an incredible feeling when our team is recognised for their dedication. And that’s something that Tracey is positively overflowing with! She has been at the forefront of building connections with the local business community and has led the way on so many of our fundraising events, bringing in the all-important-funds which allow us to do our work.
And we’re proud that Tracey’s hard work is being recognised with her being nominated for the Contribution to the Community and Inspirational Woman of the Year awards!
It’s such an honour to be nominated for these two awards,” Tracey told us, still emotional having received her nominations. “There are no words which can truly express my gratitude to those who have put me forward. Being a part of such a close team at Hope Against Cancer and putting Leicestershire on the map as one of the hubs of expertise in cancer research makes me so proud. It’s such a brilliant feeling seeing how much support we receive from both members of the public and the business community – without that support, we wouldn’t be able to do the work we do.”
Tracey is an inspiration to us all here at Hope Against Cancer. Not only does she work hard to raise awareness of our work and arrange the most amazing fundraising events, but she is also a popular figure within the Leicester business community; she’s even become the president of a networking group within the city!
“I’m determined to ensure that local people affected by cancer have access to the best and newest treatments, therapies and medicines, which is what our research is all about,” Tracey adds. “The funds we raise from our fundraising events and generous donations go towards life-saving research and clinical trials at Leicester Royal Infirmary, which we hope will lead to better treatments and ultimately, a world where nobody is affected by cancer. That’s what I dream of achieving!”
Of course, we’re slightly biased, but we believe that Tracey is a simply incredible person and we’ll definitely be at Welford Road Stadium at the end of September with everything crossed when the Awards are presented.
A huge thank you to Tracey for everything you do for us at Hope Against Cancer and congratulations on your well-deserved nomination! You are a true shining star!
